We Fight Monsters
Operation: IHN TN Home for Incurables
For years, Jess and I have dreamed of changing South Memphis - and Memphis as a whole - into a place where love, rather than hate; unity rather than violence, neighbors working together rather than fighting; meeting needs rather than judgement or politics, and beauty rather than blight are the things it's known for.
We came off the strees of South Memphis, at some points victims of many of the calamities that plague the area - violent crime, childhood sexual abuse, property crime, poverty, hunger and homelessness - and at other points we were part of the problem, addicts pumping obscene amounts of money into the dope economy that fuels the calamity.
We have an intimate understanding of the issues facing that community - narcotics and human trafficking, racial tensions, lack of economic opportunity, tragically high infant mortality rates, and on and on.
Once we got clean, we honed some old skills into gifts to be used in efforts through our work in Afghanistan, Ukraine, Haiti, Mexico, and more - we established world-class teams of humanitarians and began building an army of sorts, one that uses human connection rather than weapons, and one that seeks to recruit opponents rather than eliminate them.
As our work in South Memphis began, we laser focused our efforts on Melrose St, until we had stopped ALL narco and s3x trafficking on that block, and had acquired a number of former "dope houses" and turned them into "hope houses" where members of our army could begin rebuilding their lives.
It didn't take long to notice the sprawling 76,000sqft vacant facility that shares a property line with many of these hope houses.
Through local community partners in the DA's office, we were introduced to the owner of this property, Ms Vanecia Belser Kimbrow, Esq, a seasoned real estate attorney with LOADS of experience renovating large commercial properties - who turns out to have the exact same vision for it as we do.
We are PROUD to announce a partnership with her and the River Region Development Fund to turn this blighted facility into a TREATMENT CENTER!!!!
-Comprehensive Treatment Programs: intensive inpatient care, outpatient programs, partial hospitalization, medical detox, 28-day rehab, and long-term residential programs.
-Trade School: Integrating trade school training into the facility, enabling more individuals to gain the skills needed for self-sufficiency.
-Community Collaboration Hub: Creating a central hub for partnerships with law enforcement, rehabilitation services, and local businesses to combat drug and human trafficking – ALWAYS promoting rehabilitation over incarceration.

We Fight Monsters
We Fight Monsters is a sister 501(c)(3) Non Profit to Flanders Fields, to carry their mission to those encountered on the streets, on the dope track, in the prisons and in the hell of addiction or sex trafficking who aren't veterans. Nobody on the Flanders team will step over the dead bodies of civilians to save a vet, but within the confines of the charter, funding can only be allocated to veterans. The need to stand up a second org focused on non-veteran funding for rescues and recoveries was immediately apparent, and to date, the Flanders team has been funding these efforts out of their own pockets, but no more!
We are here to restore life to those who were once dead to their addictions and the streets, for we were once the dead ourselves.
